After Elijah McClain was killed by police in Aurora, Colorado when he had committed no crime, the police department was once again in the national spotlight for handling young civilians in an unacceptable, disturbing and preventable way. Brittney Gilliam was taking young family members to the nail salon, when she was stopped for a crime she had absolutely no connection to. Everyone was ordered out. Some of them were zip tied. Guns were trained on them. One of the girls was only 6. How could this happen after McClain was killed? How do you produce systemic change? We take a look.
